Baz lives in Sheffield with his wife Linda. They head up a charity called South Yorkshire Chaplaincy and Listening which they launched in 2017, providing chaplains and trained listeners for the Business world. More about Baz
Baz Gascoyne has considerable experience of working with educational establishments, sports clubs, junior and secondary schools.
Baz worked as a technician with British Telecom before going to Cliff Bible College in Carver in 1981/2 and 1984/5. In 1986, he joined Sheffield YMCA as their Outreach Worker working with schools, youth groups and churches, before joining the staff team at the King’s Centre church in 1992. From 1996 to 2017 he and Linda led The Eccles church, and is an ordained leader within the Pioneer Network (a UK-based denomination of churches and ministries, and members of Churches Together).
During this time he maintained his work with junior and senior schools leading assemblies and taking lessons whilst also co-authoring 4 books for men. He is the club chaplain for Sheffield Eagles, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United.
Baz has an MA in Missiological Studies (University of Sheffield & Cliff College); and a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care (Gloucester University). In recent years he enjoyed taking part in the Common Purpose leadership development programme in Sheffield. Baz is an approved Trainer and Professional Volunteer Listener with SYCLS. He loves art, comedy, golf, music, sport and wine.
